YOUR EYESIGHT

MYOPIA
This is most common disorder. Because your eyeball is too long, the image is formed ahead of the retina. Eyesight is clear close-up, but blurred at a distance.

HYPERMETROPIA
Your eye is too short, so the image is formed behind the retina. Your eyesight is poor close-up and your eyes grow tired when viewing at a distance.

ASTIGMATISM

Your cornea is deformed, being rounder in one direction and flatter in the other.
Astigmatism can lead to visual fatigue and blurred vision, especially at a distance.

PRESBYOPIA

Presbyopia (long-sightedness) is not a refractive defect but rather is due to the inevitable ageing of the crystalline lens (loss of elasticity). This occurs after the age of 40 and starts with difficulties in reading small print.
